Gingersnaps
Ashley Hyde’s Purple Ribbon State Fair Cookies

1 ½ cup shortening
2 cups brown sugar
½ cup molasses
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
4 ½ cups flour
4 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves


Cream shortening and sugar; mix in molasses and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and mix well. Roll into balls and dip in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 min.
